Quebec Heart and Lung Institute Research Center (CRIUCPQ)
http://www.criucpq.ulaval.ca/
The Quebec Heart and Lung Institute Research Center (Centre de recherche de l’Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec – CRIUCPQ) is an internationally recognized center: it is subsidized by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS). Research is grouped together under three main areas: cardiology, pneumology and obesity and energy metabolism. These three research axes, while being in very close connection with the Institute’s subspecialties, are in constant interaction with each other, which allows for rich collaborations between clinical researchers and fundamental researchers of the various research axes.
Since 2000, the coexistence of our three research axes has meant that the research center has taken a new turn crowned with many successes. CRIUCPQ has all the assets to achieve an innovative vision of cutting-edge research in cardiology, pneumology and obesity. CRIUCPQ is the only research center in Canada, and one of the few in the world, to bring together such lines of research under one roof. The development of CRIUCPQ is in harmony with the vision of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
